Hello! I'm Jala Mason. I am a broadcast journalism graduate from the University of Houston. Before college, I struggled to find a field I felt was perfect for me. I always knew that the idea of positively impacting others through sharing powerful stories has always excited me. However, as I continued to grow, I realized I had a true passion for sports journalism. Through sports journalism, I am able reach a larger audience to share important stories through the lens of sports. 

 

My family has heavily influenced my passions, as sports were always a way to teach us important stepping stones throughout life. It has been something that we've bonded over, across several generations. 

 

This path continues to excite me, as it has taken me from city to city in the state of Texas. I am eager to see where my journey takes me next!
